Known leaker 'Midori' has backed a years-long rumor about the existence of a The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Switch port.
For several years, several sources have been claiming that Nintendo is sitting on Switch ports of both The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Both titles were expected to be announced as part of the 35th anniversary of the Zelda series back in 2021, but unfortunately, the announcement never came. Still, known journalist Jeff Grubb has often expressed that he still expects both games to be released. In addition, VGC owner Andy Robinson has said in the past that these titles are still coming to Nintendo's platform.
On X, known SEGA/Atlus leaker 'Midori' has now also mentioned the Twilight Princess Switch port while talking about a new project at Nintendo which might very well be related to a new Zelda. "There is a project at Nintendo with the codename Edward", the leaker wrote on X. "This might be related to the rumors of a new Zelda series title."
When another X user said that this project might be related to Twilight Princess Remastered, 'Midori' basically backed the years-long rumor about Nintendo sitting on Switch ports. "I do not know why Nintendo is not releasing it yet".
As explained by the leaker on X, 'Edward' was Nintendo's codename for the 2019 Link's Awakening Switch remake from Grezzo.
It will be interesting to learn what Nintendo is cooking with regard to the Zelda franchise, especially with the current Switch now being in the final stage of its console cycle, and Nintendo having confirmed that the Switch successor will be announced before April 2025.
What are your thoughts on the Twilight Princess and Wind Waker ports that Nintendo is said to have been sitting on? Will they still be released on the current Switch or will Nintendo release them on the Switch successor as possible
