Reality star, entrepreneur, and socialite Kim Kardashian has signed on to star in the upcoming Season 12 FX's American Horror Story, according to The Hollywood Reporter (and numerous other outlets). Kardashian will join returning AHS alum and past Ryan Murphy collaborator Emma Roberts for the long-running anthology series.

This will also be the first season that will be written and show-run by a single person, Halley Feiffer. Feiffer is also currently writing the book for the Broadway-bound musical adaptation of Thelma and Louise.
«Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,» said AHS co-creator Murphy (via THR). «Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.»
The season will be based in part on Danielle Valentine's upcoming novel Delicate Condition, with the season itself being subtitled as «Delicate». The novel is about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is trying to make sure her pregnancy never happens. It was recently described by author Andrea Bartz as «the feminist update to Rosemary's Baby we all needed.» The book is due out in August.
AHS: Delicate is executive produced by Murphy, co-creator Brad Falchuk, Feiffer, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Scott Robertson, and is currently scheduled to begin shooting in New York City later in April with a summer premiere planned. The latest season of AHS, titled NYC, aired last Halloween and received mostly positive reviews from critics.
