The early reactions to Jurassic World Dominion are in, and critics are deeply divided in their thoughts. Dominion is the upcoming third installment in theJurassic World series, which began as a soft-reboot of Jurassic Park back in 2015. So far, the series, which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in lead roles, has proved a box office hit with its first two installments. Both Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom grossed well over $1 billion dollars globally during their release, quickly leading to a third film.
Jurassic World Dominion will be set four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, as dinosaurs and humans are now living increasingly alongside one another. However, perhaps the most highly anticipated element of the film is that Dominion will see the return of the original Jurassic Park cast fromthe 1993 Steven Spielberg classic: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. What's more, Dominion is set to act as the finale to the Jurassic World trilogy, as Pratt himself recently referred to the film as «the end of the franchise.»

Now, the first reactions to Jurassic World Dominion have begun to appear online, and it’s clear that the third installment has failed to win over all critics over. Instead, Dominion has proved a very divisive sequel. The film has been described as “convoluted & all over the place,” “underwhelming” and “wildly repetitive.” However, some critics disagreed, and praised Dominion's attempts at leaning into nostalgia, as well as the blended CGI and practical effects used to create the dinosaurs.
