Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has sold 7,191,107 tickets for ¥9,839,644,200 (roughly US$85.1 million) in its first 39 days. The film is expected to surpass a total of ¥10 billion in total earnings sometime this week, according to Oricon.
Cast members Megumi Ogata, Kana Hanazawa, Yūichi Nakamura, and Takahiro Sakurai will appear at a post-opening stage greeting event at TOHO CINEMAS Hibiya in Tokyo on February 12, the film's site revealed. The event will stream live to theaters all around Japan, and will include what's being teased as an «important announcement».

The popular film is currently the 39th highest-earning film in Japanese box office history. It became the 50th highest-earning film in Japanese box office history two weeks ago. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has now topped The Adventures of Milo and Otis, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire, and Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in Japanese box office performance. It is currently outpacing last year’s highest-earning film in Japan, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time, which earned around ¥10.22 billion (roughly US$88 million) during its run.
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (renamed from Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School) manga ran in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine from April-July 2017. The series serves as a prequel to Akutami’s popular Jujutsu Kaisen series, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in 2018. The series has amassed 18 collected volumes throughout its run so far. A free-to-play RPG developed by Sumzap was announced in June 2021, though nothing new regarding the project has been disclosed since.
