As part of a wider interview involving Joss Whedon, the once-beloved creator has been accused of vicious behavior during the making of Firefly. Because of that short-lived sci-fi series and additional shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Whedon has long been lauded as one of the most creative voices in entertainment. However, recent years have seen more and more people come forward with stories of Whedon behaving terribly on the sets of his productions. Fisher's allegations have mostly focused the narrative surrounding Whedon's misconduct on Justice League, but the accounts of others have indicated this extends to much of Whedon's career. Several people who worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel have shared stories of Whedon's erratic on-set behavior; actress Charisma Carpenter in particular was open about her struggles for years. Now Whedon's new interview with NYMagazine has revealed a particularly vicious story from the set of cult favorite Firefly.

Rather than addressing this with the person who wrote the script privately, Whedon brought together the entire writing staff. The anonymous writer said:
