Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part five follows the journey of fifteen-year-old Giorno Giovanna and his dreams of becoming a gang boss. Though, after meeting Passione's Bruno Bucciarati and his gang, Giorno and his stand get more than they could have imagined.
Giorno's stand, Golden Experience, has the ability to reshape matter into a living creature. The majority of the time he would transform items into plants or small animals. He would do this to track, hide items, and occasionally heal one of his teammates. After piercing Golden Experience with the stand arrow (it is unclear if it was a generic stand arrow or a requiem arrow), Golden Experience transformed into Golden Experience Requiem.

Like many other stands in Jojo, Golden Experience Requiem has a confusing ability. The best way to think about his power is being the opposite of Golden Experience. Instead of creating life from matter, Requiem reverts them to a state of zero. It's hard to say precisely what this state is, but it is a point that removes all willpower and action. Taking the person back to before they were real. If a person is killed by Golden Experience Requiem, then they will be forced into a death loop.
This death loop is like an alternate reality where the person is killed in every way possible due to Requiem's ability to force them back to zero. More specifically, back to the point right before they were killed. In the anime, fans can see that Diavolo is extremely confused during each reset. He remembers the last point before being placed into the death loop. Meaning that every time the death loop happens, Diavolo will be looking for Giorno to kill him but instead die himself.
