One of the most powerful forces in the DC Universe has taken on the visage of veritable comics legend Jack Kirby in a preview for Green Lantern #12. In the last year, John Stewart has increased his powers to a level never seen before, elevating him to practical godhood. The Green Lantern now finds himself on a plane for the most celestial of entities, the Source, which greets Stewart wearing quite the familiar face.
Since the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps, the remaining members have fought on to preserve their peacekeeping mission. Though he has no Central Power Battery to draw from, John has since discovered that he is an «ascended» and is capable of pulling from the cosmic forces around him. This change allowed Stewart to become an even more powerful ring slinger than he was before.

In fact, his power was shown on full display in a preview for Green Lantern #12 by Geoffrey Thorne, Tom Raney, and Marco Santucci. Having absorbed the energy of the Godstorm, John overflows with power to the point it seems as though he's dissipating. As cosmic power pours from the Lantern, a mysterious voice calls to him saying "You know me John. Everybody does." Standing before the ascended Lantern is a physical manifestation of the Source, which has appeared to John in the form of Jack Kirby. Though John can't believe what he's seeing, the Source presses on saying "Everything in existence knows me."
The Source being modeled after the King of Comics shouldn't come as a surprise, as the current Green Lantern run has heavily incorporated elements from Kirby's epic Fourth World Saga. The cosmic being even
