The John Wick series has always been a pretty rough time for Keanu Reeves' title character. Whether it involves losing his house, his dog, or his own blood, there's an overarching theme of loss throughout the whole thing. But how much influence does Reeves himself have with the series? After all, he's been playing John for nearly a decade at this point, so he's got to have a decent familiarity with it all by now.
Well, it turns out that the next entry in the franchise, the title-pending John Wick: Chapter 4, will feature at least a couple of ideas from Reeves pertaining to his titular beloved anti-hero. It's a pretty standard development that anybody will become intimately familiar with a character after spending so much time embodying them. So at this point, it's less of a surprise and more of a finally-fulfilled foregone conclusion.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet at CinemaCon in April, Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski offered some insight into their mindset when filming the upcoming sequel. As fans already know, each entry seems to ramp up the action scenes to keep things fresh. This time, Reeves helped with that process, telling the interviewer, «I've called out a couple of things, like, 'Let's get on a horse in the desert.' 'Let's drive a little bit.'»
So there's a little tease for what to expect. Granted, «let's drive a little bit» is probably the most standard thing anybody could ask for in a modern movie. But this is John Wick, after all.
