Netflix has released the trailer for its newest true crime documentary Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes. In 2019, Academy Award-nominated director Joe Berlinger released the first installment of his true crime Conversations with a Killer docuseriesThe Ted Bundy Tapes. The four-part documentary show explored over 100 hours of interviews paired with archival footage and audio recordings of Bundy himself, providing a truly unique perspective of the heinous crimes he committed. With the growing interest in true crime over the last few years, Berlinger’s docuseries has been a great success for Netflix, experiencing a higher demand than over 80% of documentaries in the United States.
Now, Netflix has released the first full trailer for Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes. The three-part series will be very similar to its predecessor in that it will explore over 60 hours of audio discussion with Gacy himself, as well as interviews with those who either participated in the investigation that uncovered his murders, or were possibly intended victims of the serial killer. It appears that the series will primarily focus on how Gacy was able to get away with his horrendous crimes for so many years. Watch the full trailer below.

Gacy is known to have killed at least 33 people during the 1970s, 26 of whom he hid buried beneath his home in Illinois. Additionally, the notorious murderer is infamous for performing as a clown and visiting children’s hospitals while the world searched for the vicious serial killer, and has since become one of history's most famous.
