Jensen Ackles has joined the cast of Big Sky season 3 as a series regular. Best known for his role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, Ackles has more recently accepted the part of Soldier Boy in Amazon’s acclaimed series The Boys. Now, a report by THR confirms that the 44-year-old actor has joined the cast of Big Sky season 3. The news comes as ABC announces the show’s renewal alongside titles such as A Million Little Things and The Wonder Years. Due to make his first outing as Beau Arlen in the Big Sky season 2 finale on May 19, Ackles’ character will become a regular next season.

Kelley, based on the book series by C.J. Box. The show initially focuses on detectives Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe), who partner with the latter’s ex-wife, Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick), during an investigation into the abduction of two girls.
