Josef Fares has teased Hazelight Studios' next project. The studio has only launched two games so far, but the latter of those two was such a big hit that it took home the Game of the Year award in 2021. Needless to say, confirmation that the next project is well underway has got people pretty excited.
There isn't much to go on, though. Fares posted a selfie alongside two mocap actors, captioning the pic, “sneak peek of the next game”. Fares doesn't tweet often, so he usually gets a lot of attention when he does. It Takes Two fans have naturally latched onto the inclusion of two actors in the pic, hoping that's an indicator that Hazelight is once again working on a co-op game.

The studio has launched two titles so far, No Way Out and It Takes Two, both of which have been co-op only. The success of those two games suggests Hazelight's third game would follow in the same footsteps. Stick to what you do best, and It Takes Two may well have been evidence that Hazelight not only does co-op better than it does anything else, but it might do it better than anyone else in video games right now.
Some of the replies to Fares's tweet also make reference to the one game he directed prior to starting up Hazelight. Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons launched in 2013 and some people are hopeful Fares's new game will be an homage to that starring two sisters. That would certainly make sense, and would probably be more fitting than an It Takes Two sequel which many other people understandably want due to the first game's popularity.
