The long-awaited sequel can’t easily bring back the talking cat Thackery Binx despite the character being one of the original movie’s most beloved heroes, thanks to his happy ending in the original movie. There is a black cat prominently featured in the Hocus Pocus 2 trailer (above) implying that the movie may include the return of the original movie's spellbound man-turned-cat Thackery Binx. However, it is unlikely this specific cat is actually Thackery Binx, because the first Hocus Pocus concludes with the character going to heaven with the soul of his sister.
