A new video shows the three stars behind the infamous Sanderson Sisters reacting to Hocus Pocus 2's trailer. The long-awaited sequel to the 1993 Halloween cult classic will finally land on Disney+ this fall. The original film focused on the trio of mischievous witches known as the Sanderson Sisters, portrayed by Bette Midler (Winifred), Kathy Najimy (Mary), and Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah). When the siblings are inadvertently awakened by a teenage boy, they wreak havoc in Salem, Massachusetts as they attempt to capture several young children so they can stay young forever.
Hocus Pocus 2 is set 29 years later in present day Salem. On Halloween, three high school students — newcomers Becca (Whitney Peak), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) — light the Black Flame Candle during a ritual and accidentally awaken the Sanderson Sisters once again. A recent trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 gave fans their first look at the witches' return and the teenagers who resurrected them. Rounding out the cast of Hocus Pocus 2 is The Afterparty's Sam Richardson, Veep's Tony Hale, and Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham as an unknown witch character. Stars of RuPaul's Drag Race, Ginger Minj, Kornbread Jeté, and Kahmora Hall, have also been announced as drag queens who will impersonate the Sanderson Sisters in the sequel.
