Magic: The Gathering retailer Card Kingdom has recognised a union formed by its employees, following a successful election campaign by the group for representation.
Under US labour laws, companies can either voluntarily recognise a union, or go through an election process among all employees, where a majority vote results in a legal requirement for acknowledgement.

Included in its demands were a living wage for all employees, a “share in the financial success of Card Kingdom”, the ability to take unpaid time off and flexible working hours, and “equal opportunity at all levels within the company”.
