Amazon Expands Same-Day Delivery to Include Local Retailers
Prime members in more than 10 US cities can now get same-day delivery from local retailers through the Amazon app and website.
Folks living in select ZIP codes in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington are eligible for speedy shipping(Opens in a new window) on items from PacSun, GNC, SuperDry, and Diesel.
But unlike most of what you buy via Amazon, products aren't plucked from a vast warehouse and driven around for hours in the back of a crowded van. Instead, orders are sent directly to the local store, where an associate fulfills it from their inventory and hands it over to an Amazon delivery partner for drop off at your door.
The service is free for Prime members who spend $25 or more on qualifying items; it's $2.99 when spending less. Some shops also offer the option to buy online and pick up in store. Sur La Table and 100% Pure are expected to join the lineup "in the upcoming months"; the e-commerce giant also plans to expand into more cities around the country in the future.
