When the dread necromancer returns in Iratus: Lord Of The Dead, his first priority is escaping the mines that have been built around his tomb. While the first battles might seem easy, the game's first map has some tricky foes with nasty surprises for the unsuspecting player.

Early in the game your Minions and upgrades are limited, but you still have all the tools you need to escape the mines and begin your revenge against the living. If a particular enemy in this area is consistently foiling your evil plans, this guide outlines all of their strengths and weaknesses in roughly the order you'll encounter them, as well as the recommended Minions for defeating them.
Quest battles will occasionally include enemies from outside the current map. This guide only covers enemies that are native to the Mines, so it may not include those that appear during quests undertaken there.
Malnourished and poorly-equipped, Conscripts are among the game's weaker enemies. Their lack of defensive stats and low Vitality make them fairly easy to take down, but they can deal decent damage to low-level Minions if allowed to live.
While it might be tempting to finish off more dangerous enemies before turning your attention to the Conscripts, beware of these criminals' Sinister Strike ability. After spending a turn charging, they can deal around 25 damage to an unsuspecting Minion. A Bride Of Iratus can interrupt Sinister Strike with her Warning Shot while removing about half of the Conscript's Sanity at the same time.
Conscripts have a decent Evasion, so it's best to use Minions with a high Accuracy, such as the aforementioned Bride or a Dark Knight, to bring them down.
