The iPhone SE (2022) has a higher launch price that places it in the sub-$500 category, and this makes it possible to pit it against the iPhone 11, the other Apple smartphone that's priced under $500. Even after launching a new iPhone, Apple is known to keep manufacturing and selling select models from previous generations. It also slashes their price, making them more affordable and a great choice for those on a budget.
The iPhone 11 is one of the older generation phones that Apple has yet to discontinue. The iPhone 11 launched in 2019 alongside the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max which have already been delisted. Other older-generation iPhones that Apple still sells are the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. Surprisingly, Apple decided not to keep the iPhone SE (2nd Gen), with it immediately discontinued and delisted after the new model was announced.

The iPhone SE (2022) and the iPhone 11 look nothing alike. While the former has thick top and bottom bezels, the latter has a notch and a display that covers almost all of the front. The contrasting design extends to the rear where the iPhone 11 has a camera bump and two rear cameras while the iPhone SE (2022) has a single camera sensor. Both phones have a curved aluminum frame and are covered in glass on the front and rear. The iPhone 11 has an IP68 water-resistance rating while the iPhone SE has a less durable IP67 rating. Apple ships the iPhone 11 with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display which towers above the 4.7-inch Retina HD display
