Apple's iPhone 16 lineup is shaping up to be a worthy upgrade over the current model, as the company has planned a slew of new changes for the entire lineup. While the standard models will receive their fair share of improvements, the 'Pro' models in particular be an appealing option for many. It is now being reported that the iPhone 16 Pro models will come with 33 percent smaller bezels compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models, giving it a more streamlined look and feel.
The iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max screens are reportedly getting bigger this year, from, 6.1-inch to 6.3-inch for the smaller and 6.7-inch to 6.9-inch for the bigger model. While the company could have achieved this feat thanks to a slightly bigger chassis, the reduction in bezel size could also have something to do with it. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reports that we can specifically expect the iPhone 16 Pro models to feature slimmer bezels, up to 33 percent or one-third smaller than the current models.
With smaller bezels and a bigger display size, we can expect this year's iPhone models to be the biggest Apple has ever offered. Apple is on a roll when it comes to the bezels, as it reduced bezels from 3.5mm to 2mm last year with the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro. With a 33 percent further reduction, we can expect the new bezels to be somewhere around 1.33mm, which is one of the smallest, if not the smallest, in the entire smartphone industry.
To make it happen, the company will use Border Reduction Structure technology, or BRS, to make the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro smaller.
