iPhone 15 Series to Feature Power-Efficient OLED Displays, Could Contribute to Improve Battery Life
Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone 15 series later this year with a boatload of front-facing features and changes. The standard models are rumored to adopt the iPhone 14 Pro's Dynamic Island and the iPhone 15 Pro models are reported to come with solid-state buttons. While there is a lot to look forward to this year, the iPhone 15 series will also rock a more power-efficient OLED display that could contribute to improving overall battery life.
According to a report published by Taiwan's Economic Daily News, the iPhone 15 series will feature an OLED panel with a more power-efficient display driver chip fabricated on a 28nm process. Currently, the display driver chip on the iPhone 14 models is based on a 40nm process. What this means is that the driver chip will consume less power which will overall reflect in the iPhone 15's battery life.
Apart from this, the iPhone 15 series is slated to feature no upgrades in terms of display quality. However, it is too early to draw final conclusions as the final word rests with Apple. Additionally, Apple could potentially opt to upgrade the standard iPhone 15 models with a higher refresh rate display. As mentioned earlier, be sure to take the news with a grain of salt.
As for what we are expecting, Dynamic Island will expand to the standard iPhone 15 lineup. This will streamline the devices again in terms of design.
