iPhone 14 does NOT bend but watch out for those camera lenses
The iPhone 14 is currently the best no-frills iPhone Apple makes at the moment. Other than the usual set of annual upgrades, the iPhone 14 also makes headlines with an easy repairability score. But, is the iPhone 14 durable? And if so, how strong is it? To find out, popular YouTube creator Jerry Rig Everything took an iPhone 14 and subjected it to some extreme abusive usage an iPhone could witness in its life. And guess what? The iPhone 14 passed with flying colours, although with a few caveats.
In the initial parts of the test, the iPhone 14 shows good resistance to scratches when exposed to strong objects. The display can sustain minor scratches under extreme conditions and deeper grooves when the punishment increases. The same goes for the back glass, which is also now removable. Then there's the iPhone's camera glass covering the lenses and that picks up scratches easily, despite Apple claiming Sapphire Crystal glass protection. You would want to keep those cameras away from harm.
Eventually, the iPhone 14 is exposed to the burn test and its OLED display doesn't survive after a long exposure to flames. While this may not happen to your iPhone 14, what can happen is a bend situation and the iPhone 14 performs great here. In fact, the iPhone 14 didn't bend in the test. This means you can forego your worries when carrying this in your pockets.
Apple doesn't have big claims in terms of durability but the iPhone 14 passes with flying colours.
