Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will need a surprisingly small amount of storage space as its file size has just been revealed. Some Call of Duty games are infamous for taking up a massive amount of storage. As an example, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War needs over 200 GB of space on PS5 and users have been complaining about the ballooning file sizes for a while now.
Call of Duty fans should note that preload for Modern Warfare 2 is now live. Gamers can play the campaign from tomorrow, while the full game launches next week on October 28. Players now have a better idea about how much space MW2 takes before they decide to preorder the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC Requirements Revealed
PlayStation Game Size on Twitter reveals that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will take up 36.201 GB of storage space on PS5. This file size is as of version 1.02 of the game and is shockingly low for a Call of Duty title. Recent Call of Duty games come with separate packs for the campaign, multiplayer, and co-op components, allowing users to delete files for the game mode they no longer wish to play. PlayStation Game Size reveals that Modern Warfare 2 has 2 campaign packs that need 8.105 GB and 8.609 GB of storage space. The multiplayer pack requires 4.959 GB, while the cooperative game mode Spec Ops needs just 2.619 GB of space.
The last pack is for Warzone 2.0, which will require an additional 2.541 GB of storage. Warzone 2.0 is scheduled to launch next month on November 16, and Activision has confirmed that it will be a separate download from the base Modern Warfare 2.
