Into the Echo gets a new devblog about crafting, gathering, and exploration an update on development, as well as how this coincides with their episodic Journey Across Raava lore experience.
The blog, from Etlok Studios co-founder Akshay Kolte, dives into the three crafting systems, some of which you get a taste from via the tie-in adventure game: Wizden crafting, Ulkami, and Qen Smithing are the three types, and we get an intro to each.
In Wizden crafting, emphasis is on using natural ingredients and more traditional methods. The recipes have been handed down through the generations, and they take plant and animal material, minerals, and other naturally occurring items in the world in this holistic method. almost all of the advanced crafting recipes in this style will require incantations so it will blend the magic with the natural.
The second form, Ulkami, is the more scientific base crafting system. this one involves more formulas and a formal process. So you'll have to go out and find those processes, gather the right ingredients and reagents, make some potions and create something different in this more alchemic form of crafting.
The third form, Qen Smithing, uses Qen to take metal and turn it into various useful items, from weapons to armor. You'll need to get the blueprints of the items you need, and then use a combination of spells in a particular sequence to get the item you want. As you discover new spells you can also improve this form of crafting.
