Intel Wall Street Canyon NUC Details Leak
We're set to get another update to Intel's range of NUC computers later this year, and this time they'll be powered by 12th-gen CPUs and Intel Xe graphics.
As Liliputing reports (via FanlessTech), Intel hasn't officially announced this new NUC range yet, but Chinese website Chiphell got its hands on one (and posted lots of photos). It's codenamed Wall Street Canyon, and will offer a choice of 28W 12th-gen Core i3, i5, and i7 processors with Intel Xe graphics, combined with DDR4-3200 RAM, a PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 2280 SSD slot, and Intel AX211 wireless with support for Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
In terms of ports, there's a couple of Thunderbolt 4, a HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4, 2.5Gbps Ethernet, 3.5mm audio, USB 3.2 Type-A, USB 2.0 Type-A, and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A. Intel is apparently going to aim Wall Street Canyon NUCs at both consumers and business users, so some models will include support for vPro.
In terms of performance, the use of 12th-gen processors will automatically give these NUCs a performance advantage over the 11th-gen models. At the high-end, Intel is expected to offer a model with a 12-core, 16-thread Core i7-1270P processor (four performance cores, eight efficient cores), which should cater for most jobs outside of playing games and video production. And according to Chiphell's testing, this new NUC runs cooler and quieter than the 11th-gen NUCs.
