This past Friday, China announced that the livestreaming unauthorized video games will be banned.
As reported by Reuters, the rule was made by the National Radio and Television Administration, which said that all platforms must have approval by related authorities to stream titles.
This also extends towards the broadcasting of overseas games and competitions, the regulator said.
This new decision follows a week after the country ended its freeze on game approvals after a period of nine months.
By extension, the ban on unapproved games for livestreaming follows an ongoing series of crackdowns on video games.
Some of the regulations included limiting gaming by minors to just three hours a week and implementing stricter rules around depictions of sexuality, morality, and religion.
