One of the first things that springs to the mind of many fans when they hear the words Dark Souls are the bosses that cause so much pain and strife in every FromSoftware title. With the release of Elden Ring, many FromSoftware RPG players have moved on to face the newer bosses such as Malenia, the character that features in much of the game's marketing and has proven to be a difficult enemy to face for many.
Despite Elden Ring bringing forth dozens of new bosses carrying a naming theme related to fantasy author George R.R. Martin, many gamers are still going through the old Dark Souls games. Some are beginning their journey for the first time too, either after playing Elden Ring first or in preparation for it. One Dark Souls fan has been introduced the hard way to the heartbreaking losses that players can face against some of the game's bosses.

Fighting the Iron Golem, which acts as the last guardian before players can reach Anor Londo, Reddit user Quiet_Scholar_3142 initially seems to be doing quite well. They've taken very little damage in the opening seconds of the fight while chipping down the Golem's health rather effectively. Then, everything goes wrong as the Dark Souls player aims for another swing only to be teleported into the atmosphere. Even the boss music ends once the glitch happens, letting the player know they're truly doomed.
According to comments in Quiet_Scholar_3142's Reddit post, this glitch isn't always as bad as it looks. It can even be used to skip the Iron Golem boss fight in Dark Souls, allowing players to reach Anor Londo without fighting it.
