Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continues Marvel Studios' success with another thrilling entry and mind-bending entry in the MCU. While it remains unclear as to how the phase four projects will culminate, one thing is for sure, and that is Benedict Cumberbatch wants to continue playing Doctor Strange.
Making his MCU debut in 2016's Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch has now cemented himself as one of the MCU's most intriguing and leading heroes, as the fan-favorite character is now also playing a pivotal role in the expansion and exploration of the multiverse. Coming off of his appearance in some of the MCU's most successful projects with Spider-Man: No Way Home and now the Doctor Strange sequel, it appears that Cumberbatch wants to continue his recent success.

In a recent interview with The National Post, Cumberbatch was asked if he would keep playing the role of Doctor strange for many more years. «Yeah! Absolutely. Absolutely. If they keep me, and it’s interesting, and keep him evolving and try to exercise his full potential as a character,» Cumberbatch said in response. «I think there’s a lot of places for him to explore. So yeah, bring it on.»
While Cumberbatch recently shared that he will be taking a break from acting, Doctor Strange 2's box office and critical success, as well as how the MCU's introduction of the multiverse creates endless story possibilities, means it would certainly be difficult for Cumberbatch not to return. But with the focus shifting to upcoming projects like Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it will be interesting to see how and when Doctor Strange crosses paths once
