Curse-Rotted Greatwood is a boss that appears in Undead Settlement in Dark Souls 3. The giant tree boss has human-like limbs and Egg Sacks on its body. Also, the boss fight has two phases, and each phase is situated in a different arena. You can easily defeat the boss as you only have to focus on a few things and not have a generic boss fight.

Make sure to find the Mound-Makers covenant before defeating the boss, as entering the Covenant before the boss is relatively easy. Curse-Rotted Greatwood is located near the end of Undead Settlement. The boss fight is optional and is not mandatory for any ending in the game. Defeating the boss rewards you with Transposing Kiln, which you can give to Ludleth to enable Soul Transposition. This allows you to get Boss Weapons, Rings, and Spells from their Souls.

The boss has a few attacks that it alternates between. The attacks to look out for are Body Slams and consecutive Hand Slams.
Body Slam
The boss slams its body down on the ground causing AOE damage and forming a pool of corrosive liquid. Standing in the pool causes you to take damage over time. The pool dissipates after a few seconds.
Counter: As you see the boss leap up, you need to run or roll away from the boss. As the boss slams down, you can go in and get a few hits in before rolling away from the pool.
Spin
Curse-Rotted Greatwood will put one hand on the ground and spin in a 360, causing its hands and legs to fly around and hit you.
