Leak Suggests AMD is Confident It Will ‘Decimate’ Nvidia's Efficiency with RDNA 3
Both AMD and Nvidia are looking to move forward with the next era in graphical hardware. With the RDNA 3 supposedly coming towards the end of this year and Nvidia hoping to launch the RTX 40-series by September, the race is on to compete for modern GPU supremacy, and that's before Intel makes a significant move in the market. It's still early days yet to truly say how well the upcoming new generation will perform, but it looks as though team red has a few tricks up its sleeve to combat Lovelace.
In a recent video from the Moore's Law Is Dead YouTube channel, a number of sources have spoken to the show's host about the possible upcoming specs for the mid-range variants of the AMD Navi 33 products. Among a number of leaked details about how it will be built with 8 GB of VRAM on a 128-bit bus, there's also talk of it being made on a 6 nm die. The video references engineers from the company saying that it's «100% confident» that it will «decimate» the competition, especially Nvidia, in terms of efficiency across its upcoming lineup, at least according to the video.
Analyst Says Nvidia and AMD Prices Will Eventually Plummet
That is quite a bold statement from team red and while it isn't necessarily biting its metaphorical thumb at Nvidia in terms of sheer power, it's possible that the tech giant may be heading towards more efficient cards, which could be important in this climate. That said, the leaked specifications of the Navi 33 suggest that it could have rasterization performance better than the AMD Radeon 6900 XT, especially when it comes to 1080p gaming.
