At long last, filming for Indiana Jones 5has wrapped, a producer confirms with a new behind the scenes photo. The road to this point for Indiana Jones 5 has been long and winding. Talk of a fifth movie centered on Harrison Ford's iconic fedora-wearing adventurer began just before the previous film in the franchise, 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was released. However, development from that point was slow. It seemed to pick up in 2016, with the Disney-acquired Lucasfilm said Indiana Jones 5 would debut in 2019. However, as creative issues got in the way, the movie was pushed back multiple times.
Filming on Indiana Jones 5 finally got off the ground last year, with Ford back in the leading role. For this installment, he'll be joined by a cast of franchise newcomers, including Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Toby Jones. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is said to be playing the female lead, though most character details are still being kept under wraps. Indiana Jones 5 was once expected to premiere this summer, but production delays throughout 2021 led the film to be moved once more to June 2023.
