As horror games go, nothing gets a debate heated up quite like a discussion on Silent Hill, specifically the future of it. With Bloober Team rumored to be working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, the eerie Konami franchise has once again entered the spotlight. At the time of writing, there's no official confirmation on whether a new entry will emerge, so a team of people has done the next best thing and reimagined the original game through a modern lens.
The YouTube channel TeaserPlay recently uploaded a short video that showcases what a Silent Hill remake could possibly look like if built in Unreal Engine 5. The concept trailer actually mashes bits from the first two games into one. The protagonist can be seen walking the streets of the titular foggy town while looking for Cheryl Mason, a la the first Silent Hill, while the opening voiceover from the sequel's James Sunderland plays. Overall, the video looks pretty spectacular and really shows what a modern entry in the series could look like today.

It should be pointed out that the footage does not represent development aspects of any official or unofficial Silent Hill remake. It's simply a concept, and an awesome one at that. In fact, TeaserPlay has a number of examples on their channel similar to this. Recently, they showed what Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would look like in Unreal Engine 5. Not only does it appear fantastic, but it also gives food for thought on what last year's GTA: Trilogy could have looked like had it been handled with more care.
