Even in a relatively short space of time, the technology used to create video games has come a long way. With Unreal Engine 5 having recently released, it represents one of the most powerful tools at a game developer's disposal. It's being used to make many AAA titles, including the newWitcher game, but is also often utilized as an experiment to see what older releases would look like in this more modern era, which is what one graphics design studio has done with Resident Evil 4.
At 17 years old, this classic Capcom entry is one that fans are still talking about to this day, more so in fact given that the remake has officially been announced. However, the game has aged somewhat in the visual department, and that's where TeaserPlay comes into the mix. Uploading a video to YouTube recently, the independent studio has reimagined what Resident Evil 4 would look like if it was done today using Unreal Engine 5. The result is pretty spectacular.

While it's presented as a trailer, and a very pretty one at that, it should be noted that this is just a concept and doesn't mean that any unofficial remake is currently being developed. The video itself is presented in an almost moody way, with shots of some areas of the game that fans will recognize, as Leon's narration plays over the top. TeaserPlay is also no stranger to this sort of thing. Recently, they also shared a version of Silent Hill as reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, with similar results in that it takes a somewhat old, yet still beloved, horror game and brings it into the current generation.
