The Pokemon series has been running for more than two decades. The franchise has spawned eight generation of games with a ninth on the way, as well as a handful of spin-offs. Pokemon has cemented itself as a major pop culture icon and is a series that will be around for years to come.
Baldur's Gate is another series that has stood the test of time. The Dungeons and Dragons based RPG first released for PC in 1998 and saw a handful of spinoffs and sequels including Baldur's Gate 3 which is currently available through Early Access. Now one fan of both Pokemon and Baldur's Gate has mixed the two, creating the ultimate RPG mashup.

A Redditor going by the name cometscomets took the first Pokemon game and gave it Baldur's Gate's UI. On the left side of the screen menu options using sprites from the original Pokemon Red and Blue can be seen along with the player's party on the right side. The bottom of the UI features the actions Fight, PKMN, Item, and Run, mirroring the commands that players had during battle in Pokemon games and even features a sleeping Pikachu in the bottom left corner that is meant to pause time. The artwork has an isometric view, which was seen in the original Baldur's Gate and helps drive the crossover home.
The piece that cometscomets posted is receiving a lot of positive feedback. Many users stated that they wish the crossover was a real game, with one mentioning that this it is one of the coolest things they have seen in a while.
