Call of Duty Fans May Be Waiting Longer Than Expected for Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Reveal
In recent years, Activision has waited longer than usual to reveal the next Call of Duty game, possibly to avoid taking attention away from its current product. That pattern changed this year with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which Activision announced months earlier than it did Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. So far, Call of Duty fans have seen the Modern Warfare 2 campaign and little else, and it seems like they will be waiting longer than expected to get a full-blown multiplayer reveal.
Previous rumors have suggested that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal was already supposed to happen, while others have said that the multiplayer will be showcased at some point in August. However, leaker Tom Henderson, writing for Try Hard Guides, has now said that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal will now happen at some point in the beginning of September, to be followed shortly by the beta.

Henderson pointed out that this would actually be consistent with how Call of Duty multiplayer reveals have happened with the last couple of games in the series, as Activision waited until September to pull the curtain back on Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard multiplayer. As for the beta, Henderson believes that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta will happen in mid-September, shortly after the reveal, based on what their sources have told them.
