Previous rumors have suggested that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal was already supposed to happen, while others have said that the multiplayer will be showcased at some point in August. However, leaker Tom Henderson, writing for Try Hard Guides, has now said that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal will now happen at some point in the beginning of September, to be followed shortly by the beta.

Henderson pointed out that this would actually be consistent with how Call of Duty multiplayer reveals have happened with the last couple of games in the series, as Activision waited until September to pull the curtain back on Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard multiplayer. As for the beta, Henderson believes that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta will happen in mid-September, shortly after the reveal, based on what their sources have told them.
