IGN editor-in-chief Tina Amini this week announced her departure from the consumer gaming site.
"In an unexpected life twist, I've been given the opportunity to explore a career outside of media/journalism, and I'm unbelievably excited for the future," Amini said in a Twitter thread.
She added, "I will forever miss the incredible team at IGN, all of whom deserve infinite credit, and likely more than they receive."
Amini joined IGN in 2018 under the title of games editorial manager after the site fired its previous editor-in-chief following an investigation into alleged misconduct.
Prior to IGN, Amini worked as the games editor at Mashable and served as deputy editor at Kotaku for several years.
