Warning! Spoilers ahead for Hulk vs Thor: Banner of War Alpha #1
While Marvel's new Hulk vs Thor event reveals new details about Bruce Banner's most recent crime, it's actually way bigger than what's on the surface. Recent issues of Hulk have referenced at a recent killing spree in Texas, and it's become clear that the Avengers can no longer tolerate the Hulk. However, the first issue of Banner's new showdown with the God of Thunder is teasing that there's much more going on.
Previously in Marvel's Hulk from Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley, Bruce Banner has chosen to leave the primary 616 Marvel Universe behind for a pocket dimension, knowing that his mission to become something new would not be tolerated by his fellow heroes. Furthermore, it was also revealed that the Avengers are actively looking to bring the Hulk to justice for something terrible the Jade Giant in El Paso, Texas. Now, it seems as though Thor has been sent to destroy the Hulk once and for all in the new Hulk vs Thor: Banner of War Alpha #1 from Cates and artist Martin Coccolo.

In the first issue of Hulk and Thor's showdown, the King of Asgard confirms that the Hulk killed 17 people in El Paso. While that's less than the 26 he killed in Las Vegas, which got the Hulk banished by the Illuminati back in 2007, it seems as though this new killing spree is the straw that's broken the camel's back for the Avengers. After giving him as many chances as they have, Earth's Mightiest Heroes no doubt feel responsible for his crimes at this point.
