Before mining is available in My Time at Sandrock, players will need to craft and deliver a Crane Lift to the Eufaula Salvage yard. There are a few places to mine, but the first time players gain access to this activity will be after completing some main quests for Rocky. To start mining, the Crane Commission quest line can be acquired by visiting the Commerce Guild after receiving an official Builder License.
The first mission in the Crane Commission quest line is "Frist Day on the Job", and it's part of the main story. Inside the Commerce Guild, Rocky and Yan are arguing over the Crane Lift. At the end of the cutscene, players will receive the Crane Lift diagram, then the next mission will automatically start. Building the Crane Lift requires a few different materials and crafting stations.
