Google's all-new Pixel 6a is up for pre-order in more than a dozen countries globally starting today. The Pixel 6a was announced at Google I/O 2022 in May alongside the Pixel Buds Pro. The event also saw the company teasing some of its other upcoming hardware, including the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch. On the software side of things, Google also previewed Android 13 at I/O 2022. It will be released this fall with a slew of new features, fixes and general improvements over Android 12.
The Pixel 6a is the successor to the Pixel 5a that was launched last year to a generally-positive reception in terms of its performance. However, many potential buyers were turned off by the fact that it retained several elements from its predecessor, including a very similar design language and the same Snapdragon 765G chipset. However, the Pixel 6a represents a big jump over its predecessors, both in terms of its design and hardware. It is one of the most notable mid-range Android smartphones to launch this year alongside devices like the all-new Nothing Phone (1).

Starting today, the Pixel 6a is officially available for pre-order in many markets around the world. In the U.S., pre-orders are available from the official Google Store and Amazon at $449 for the single 128GB model. AT&T and T-Mobile will also carry the standard version of the device with sub-6GHz 5G, while Verizon will sell a different version of it with mmWave support, but at a higher $499 price point.
