When opening your Great Vaults this week, casters should keep an eye open for a weapon that might be their overall best in slot for the season… which is an off-hand!
A huge thanks to Saeldur for doing most of the research on this item and implementing it in SimC.
While being only an off-hand, Fate Weaver has a special on-use. The item can be used once to summon a Fateweaved Weapon, either Fateweaved Needle or Fateweaved Mallet, depending on your spec.
Note that once you generate your weapon, you don't need to equip the off-hand to use the weapon! You are free to equip a better off-hand while using the cantrip weapon.
There isn't a lot of information on Fate Weaver right now, all that is known is that it is a special cantrip weapon that drops from Delves. There are two confirmed sources from it and one speculated one. The first confirmed source is that it can be found inside Hulking Raptorial Claw, dropped by Zekvir after you encounter him in random delves. Looting it there makes it drop on the Champion track, meaning it can reach up to item level 619.
Meanwhile, you can also obtain it from looting Delve Maps, which provides a Hero Track version of the item, which can be upgraded up to 626. It is also believed that this item can appear in the Great Vault, however, we don't know that for sure yet.
The Fateweaved weapons have a cantrip effect for both healers and DPS players. Let's take a look at its value at Item Level 626.
For DPS players, it has a chance to link you and your target, increasing your intellect by 9210 while the link holds. Once the link expires, either by running away from it or after 5 seconds, it deals 251,174 cosmic damage to the target.
For Healers, every time you heal, you have a chance to increase both your intellect and their primary stat by 9210.
Logs and simulations show that this effect has between 20% and 25% uptime, averaging a 2064
