This might come as a surprise to some, but iPhone users can actually lower the screen brightness below the minimum level. An iPhone's brightness is typically controlled via the slider in the Control Center. Then there is the ambient light sensor that adjusts brightness automatically by increasing it in a well-lit environment and decreasing it in low light conditions.
While using an iPhone at night or in poorly lit surroundings, a user might dim the brightness slider all the way to minimum. Depending on the ambient lighting conditions at the time, there's a chance that the amount of light coming from the display is still a bit too much. However, under normal circumstances there are no options for those that do feel the need to decrease it even further.

There are two ways to lower an iPhone's screen brightness below the usual minimum. The shorter method involves heading into the Settings app and navigating to the Accessibility section. Once here, tap on 'Display & Text Size' and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to locate an option called 'Reduce White Point.' Enabling the option will immediately lower the screen brightness. The user can then increase or decrease the dimming effect by adjusting the percentage given with the option. For minimum screen brightness, set Reduce White Point to 100% which will lower the brightness to a great extent. Then use the slider in Control Center to lower the iPhone's screen brightness to below the minimum.
