Gomamon is a Digimon that players will encounter through the main storyline quest in Digimon Survive; once players help Gomamon out, they can befriend it and add it to the team. Digimon Survive follows eighth-grade protagonist Takuma Momozuka and his Digimon partner Agumon in an alternate world. As Momozuka navigates the world, he befriends new Digimon like Gomamon. While many of the Digimon are obtained by befriending them in conversation, some are encountered during the gameplay.
Gomamon is known as a Rookie Digimon with a powerful water attack. Its most powerful move is Marching Fishes, where a school of fish comes flying at enemies in battle. It is a mostly white marine creature with purple stripes and has a bit of a naughty personality.

Unlike other Digimon, Gomamon cannot be befriended with conversation in battle. Instead, players will encounter Gomamon in Part Three during the Free Choice section. Players should head to the forest outside the school, where players can complete a series of tasks to eventually befriend Gomamon.
First, players need to defeat Fangmon on the dam in Part 3 of the story in Digimon Survive. After this fight, players will have Free Choice time. Head to the forest outside the school and meet with Kunemon. Kunemon will direct players to the Spider Lily Forest, where Agumon, Falcomon, and Labramon will warn players about some rustling coming from the bushes.
After investigating the noise from the bushes, players will encounter an injured Gomamon. Interact with Gomamon, and players can help heal its wounds. Healing Gomamon results in an increased affection level, and it'll agree to be a friend. If healing it the first time does not yield enough
