Xbox Game Pass has well over 100 games for subscribers to try at any given time, and many of those titles are actually quite good. Some of the industry's most critically-acclaimed games are available to play through Xbox Game Pass, and it seems as though the service is set to add yet another critical darling to the mix, if an early review score is any indication.
Edge magazine is a UK-based gaming magazine and one of the industry's oldest gaming mags, first published in 1993. Thanks to its print format, Edge magazine occasionally breaks review embargo dates for certain games when subscribers get their copies early, and that's the case with Sam Barlow's Immortality, a new game set to launch as a day one Game Pass title on August 30.
Xbox Game Pass Adds New Day One Game
According to readers who have obtained their copy of the next Edge magazine issue early, Sam Barlow's Immortality has earned the coveted perfect 10/10 score from the magazine. This puts Immortality in elite company, to say the least. Since Edge magazine started in 1993, only 23 other games have earned a perfect score. The first game to do so was Super Mario 64, and earlier this year, FromSoftware's Elden Ring also earned a perfect 10/10 score from the magazine.
The perfect 10/10 score is just one publication's opinion, of course, but considering how rarely Edge gives out such a high rating, it is a good sign that Immortality is going to be a big deal when it launches later this month. And since Immortality is a day one Xbox Game Pass game, it should really give Microsoft's subscription service added value.
