Fitbit's wearables work with a variety of devices including those running Android and iOS, but there are times when a Fitbit might fail to sync with a connected device. Google announced it would acquire Fitbit in November 2019 for $2.1 billion and the deal was completed in June 2021. The move was seen as Google's biggest push into the wearables market. Later in 2022, Google will launch its first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, and while it will run Wear OS, it is also expected to boast features typically found on Fitbit wearables, such as Active Zone Minutes. It is recommended that users sync data from their wearable to their paired device every day. While that might not be possible for everyone, it is best to sync at least every few days as current Fitbit models, including the Charge 4, can only hold data that's not synced for up to 7 days. Syncing is a fairly easy process. All a user has to do is fire up the Fitbit app on their iPhone or Android and it should automatically sync. The Fitbit has to be near the phone for syncing to be completed and there has to be an active internet connection. Fitbit also provides the option to manually sync data.
