Alongside the more well-known titles were some unique and intriguing upcoming indie games that fans may have missed out on during the extensive presentation. The Last Case of Benedict Fox, a new supernatural horror title, for example, is certainly a game to watch out for if a gamer is a fan of Lovecraft or metroidvania-style gameplay.
Polish developer Plot Twist showcased their latest title at the recent Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, and right from the beginning it is clear to see the Lovecraftian influence in The Last Case of Benedict Fox. As the reveal trailer opens with the titular Benedict Fox arriving at his family home on a stormy evening, a tentacled monster latches itself onto him. At first, it appears that the monster will be the first of many locked inside the house, however, it seems further on in the trailer that the Lovecraftian-inspired creature is more of an ally than a foe.

This is confirmed later in the trailerfor The Last Case of Benedict Fox and in the description for the game that tells viewers that the monster at Fox's back is actually his «demon companion,» which can help him see into the memories of his family. This appears to be the gameplay hook of The Last Case of Benedict Fox, as he uncovers the dark intrigue behind his family history.
