In Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Data Storage are collectables that Raiden can pick up throughout the game. While collecting them all is optional, getting all 20 of them will unlock the Stun Blade, a weapon which gives Raiden a 20% chance to stun an enemy with every single strike. This is very useful, as stunned enemies instantly display prompts to perform an Execution. (In addition to collecting all Data Storage, the sword also costs 20,000 BP, which players will need to pay in order to get it.)
Each time a Data Storage is discovered and picked up, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will autosave. This means the player can safely quit and restart at a checkpoint the moment they collect the Data Storage. Some of these Data Storage locations are not accessible throughout the entire levels, so players must be careful to not miss them or else they may have to restart the level.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance — How to Unlock Revengeance Difficulty Mode
Every mission except for R-06 Badlands Showdown has Data Storage units for players to find and collect. Keep in mind that while most can be located, some are actually held by specific enemies that will need to be defeated to drop the data. There are also a couple that are only accessible by controlling a Dwarf Gekko.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is out now on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
