Warning! Spoilers ahead for HIMYF episode 5.
How I Met Your Father episode 5 features a specific dig at teen Nickelodeon TV shows, which actually pokes fun at a few of its own cast members. In a meta-reference to its own cast members, How I Met Your Father episode 5 sees Sophie and Valentina make a joke about the ridiculousness of some Nickelodeon TV show premises. Sophie immediately agrees and states they should add it to the list, suggesting the two have a long-running gag about absurd ideas that sound exactly like a teen series Nickelodeon would greenlight.
