From their status as Vought golden boys to their old-fashioned love of 'Murica, Homelander and Soldier Boy had similarities from the start. The Boys even revealed how Homelander replaced Soldier Boy as the world's most powerful and popular supe after the latter was captured by Russians. Both led prestigious superhero teams, both fell in love with women from said teams, and both were betrayed by said women. Despite sharing so much in common, however, few would've guessed that Soldier Boy was secretly Homelander's biological father all along.
Billy Butcher's new best friend has been firmly on the warpath in The Boys season 3, carving through the ex-members of Payback who betrayed him in Nicaragua. In exchange for the Boys' assistance, Soldier Boy agreed to fire his Compound-V-cancelling energy blast directly at Homelander's perfectly-chiseled face, rendering the Seven leader mortal and allowing Butcher long-awaited revenge on his fated nemesis.
