Hisuian Voltorb has arrived in Pokemon Go to celebrate the launch of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
As is the case with pretty much every single Pokemon game, Legends: Arceus features a few regional Pokemon variants. One of the first Hisuian variants revealed alongside Legends: Arceus was Hisuian Voltorb, who has been redesigned here to resemble the more timely Poke Balls featured in the game, as well as gaining killer eyebrows.

Thanks to a new update, Hisuian Voltorb has jumped from being exclusive to Legends: Arceus and started making appearances in Pokemon Go. As reported by Serebii, Voltorb started popping up following the end of the Team GO Rocket section of the recent Power Plant event. Just like he is in Arceus, this variant of Voltorb is an Electric/Grass type and can now be encountered through a new research event.
Once you've finished the Power Plant event, you'll gain access to a new research event, "Voltorb from the Hisui Region", which will comprise of two tasks, both of which reward players with a Hisuian Voltorb encounter. The first task asks players to catch 10 Pokemo, while the other two will have you using 10 berries to catch Pokemon, and giving your buddy three treats.
Meanwhile, the second task asks players to catch 20 Pokemon, use 20 berries when trying to catch a Pokemon, and finally to make 10 curveball throws. Doing so will once again give the player a Hisuian Voltorb encounter, as well as a number of berries. Unfortunately, despite being able to evolve into Hisuian Electrode in Legends: Arceus, the Pokemon Go version doesn't currently have the ability to evolve at all, although it could be added in a later update.
