Ever since the first Halo game put players in control of Master Chief, the series has become a significant staple in the first-person shooter community. FPS multiplayer games became increasingly popular thanks to series like Halo and Call of Duty. However, the massive success of games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Fortnite has breathed new life into the 3rd person genre.
By switching the perspectives from first to third, players can see what their characters look like, and all of the animations the game's developer had to make for the playable character. Other FPS games will often not create player animations because players are not meant to see them from the first-person perspective. However, the Halo series has always done things a little differently.
