Battle Royale has been especially popular in multiplayer games thanks to the success of titles like Fortnite, which combines frenzied combat with survival and base-building gameplay in an online skirmish to see who remains the last combatant or group standing.
Such a mode would be a natural fit for Halo's legendary multiplayer, and rumors have claimed that 343 Industries has been planning a Halo Infinite version of battle royale for years — just as big-name fans like FaZe Clan member Nickmercs have been asking for one. Halo Infinite would launch without a battle royale mode late last year, but recent reports suggest that Xbox Games is collaborating with longtime Halo side content developer Certain Affinity to add a Halo Infinite battle royale mode in a possible DLC expansion down the road.

As reported by GamesRadar, this post claims that a datamine uncovered a soon-to-be-added gameplay mode titled “Last Spartan Standing,” with a description text that reads “Every Spartan for themselves!
