The upcoming D&D books are usually revealed one at a time, as was recently the case with the recently-announced Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel, but Wizards of the Coast might be following Nintendo's example, and hosting events dedicated to several reveals at a time.
D&D has achieved incredible levels of success in recent years, to the point where it has entered the mainstream. The fifth edition of D&D has been a gateway to the game for millions of people around the world, thanks to its mechanics being easy to learn and less restrictive than previous editions. D&D also found a huge platform on streaming sites, with shows like Critical Role introducing the game to many people, and inspiring them to create D&D groups of their own. It's also easier to form D&D groups now than it ever has been before, thanks to social media and the rise of gaming stores.

D&D is growing as a multimedia entity, and it seems the time has come for the game to have its own regular announcements, similar to Nintendo's popular Nintendo Direct format. Wizards of the Coast has revealed that there will be a D&D Direct held on April 21 at 5 pm BST/6 pm CEST. The event will be hosted by Anna Prosser and B.
